MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP — A second Pocono Urgent Care medical clinic in the Poconos is getting ready to open its doors in an area where the owner says it’s needed.
The clinic is located next to the new Price Chopper on Route 209 in Marshalls Creek.
The owner says patients will receive the same type of treatment they would get in the emergency room for things like colds and broken bones.
“Pocono Urgent Care is needed throughout the Pocono region because there is essentially no immediate care available throughout the region. The only option is the emergency department and that can be a long, costly option,” said Dr. Jean Paul Romes.
The new facility opens next Monday.
The urgent care is not affiliated with Pocono Medical Center’s Immediate Care facilities which have three locations in Monroe County.
