PITTSTON -- Afternoon sunshine meant nearly perfect conditions for folks out at the Pittston Tomato Festival.

People in Pittston are celebrating the 30th year for this tasty festival.

Folks were busy cooking for the big dinner rush.  Just about everything featuring tomato is here: pizza, salsa, pasta, tomato pie, bruschetta, and of course, fresh tomatoes.

The vendors are also selling other festival favorites for those who are not big fans of fresh tomato. But that's hard to find here at the tomato festival.

More local businesses and traveling vendors have joined the four-day festival over the past 30 years.

There are t-shirts for sale, some games, even a rock climbing wall.

The parade, 5k run and tomato fight are all Saturday.

And we can't forget about the great tomato contest.  It's free to enter at 7p.m. Saturday.

Judges will hand out awards for the largest, the smallest, the most perfect, and the ugliest home-grown tomato.
