SCRANTON — A busy intersection was closed Thursday morning as PPL utility crews worked to put out an underground fire.
The fire was discovered around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Mulberry Street in Scranton when smoke began billowing out of a man hole.
PPL crews think the fire might involve power lines.
According to the utility, no homes or businesses in the neighborhood lost power because of the underground fire in Scranton.
