SCRANTON — One of two men accused of breaking into a store in Scranton during the height of Hurricane Sandy will spend up to six years behind bars.
Gilbert Ortiz of New York City was sentenced Wednesday to two to six years in prison.
In May, he pleaded guilty to breaking into Staples on Commerce Boulevard and taking $50,000 worth of electronics.
Court papers show that Ortiz and another man broke into the store in Scranton during the storm last October because they thought police would be less likely to show up.
