JIM THORPE — A man from Carbon County will spend time behind bars for driving drunk when he hit a fire chief who was directing traffic.
Steven Schock, 37, from Lehighton was sentenced Tuesday to eight to 16 months in prison.
Schock pleaded guilty in May to driving under the influence.
Authorities say he was driving a delivery truck in Jim Thorpe last July when he hit Bill Diehm, the borough’s fire chief.
The chief spent nearly three weeks in the hospital recovering from his injuries.
