WILKES-BARRE -- People of all ages and orientations came together in Wilkes-Barre Sunday for the 2013 Northeastern Pennsylvania Pride Festival, put on by the NEPA Rainbow Alliance.

This was the sixth year for the Pridefest at Kirby Park.

One organizer said she's been with her partner for more than 16 years but can't get any benefits because same-sex marriage still isn't legal in Pennsylvania.  She claims this event is aimed at spreading awareness and acceptance for people of all orientations.

"The reason for it is for acceptance. There's straight, gay, lesbian, transgender, all here today, just celebrating everyone, acceptance, and getting along," said Beth Hartman.

Over 2,000 people attended Pridefest.
