STANDING STONE TOWNSHIP — State police in Bradford County say a firefighter was hit by a drunk driver.
The crash happened around 12:30 Saturday afternoon on Rummerfield Creek Road near Wyalusing.
Troopers say 25-year-old Clinton Houghtaling, a Herrickville volunteer firefighter, was walking along the road when he tried to warn the driver, 19-year-old Travis Taylor, that wires were down in the roadway.
Taylor hit Houghtaling with his vehicle.
Houghtaling was taken to the hospital with major injuries and is in stable condition.
Taylor faces charges of aggravated assault while driving under the influence and many more charges after the crash in Bradford County.
