STROUD TOWNSHIP — Three homes were broken into and two attempts to break in occurred on Spangenburg Avenue, Marguerite Street and Stemple Street early Friday morning in Monroe County.

Police say all entries were made by cutting window screens and using nearby outdoor furniture to step up into the windows.

No residents were harmed and all discovered the break-ins or attempted break-ins when they woke up in the morning. Among the stolen items were cash, purses, a laptop, cell phone and an iPad.

Patrols have been increased in the area and residents are asked to be alert and to call the police if they see or hear anything suspicious.

Police are still investigating the burglaries.
