DANVILLE -- By Thursday morning, someone could be more than $400 million richer.

The Powerball jackpot is at $425 million! And that has lots of people looking for that lucky ticket.

When the Powerball jackpot gets this big, the Powerball people start paying up. At a convenience store in Danville, the lottery machine was getting a workout.  Dennis Joye of Wilkes-Barre is taking a chance, hoping lady luck is on his side.

"I'll feel pretty great. It would put me in position where I can help family members, family who needs help," he said. "A whole bunch of extended family would come out of the woodwork."

In order to win the Powerball jackpot, you have to match five numbers and the Powerball and the odds of that are one in 175 million. Not only that, but Pennsylvanians are up against some pretty big odds; Floridians have won six jackpots, the most of any state.

"You kind of hope that if you don't win, it's those factory workers where there's a giant pot and you're helping out 30 people," said Stais Domzalski of Northumberland.

If there's no winner this time around, the jackpot will get bigger and that would mean an even bigger windfall for the lucky winner or winners.

"It's going to go up to $600 million, a lot of money if someone hits that. He doesn't have to work all his life or seven generations," said Peter Singh of Penn Jersey Food Mart.

And when the Powerball is this big, Mark Knutson of Danville spares the couple bucks in hopes of striking it rich.

"I don't buy them until they hit really big. Granted, a million, two million, 10 million is a lot but when they get that big, it draws more attention."

All eyes will be on the drawing at 11 p.m. on WNEP-TV.
