PACKER TOWNSHIP — State police believe alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed two people in Carbon County.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on private property near Nesquehoning.
Troopers said the driver, Richard Matsick of Nesquehoning, was speeding on Fireline Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.
Two passengers, Richard Zabroski and Rebecca Pilla, both of Nesquehoning, died.
Matsick and another passenger were seriously injured.
State police said no one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
