The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday on private property near Nesquehoning.

Troopers said the driver, Richard Matsick of Nesquehoning, was speeding on Fireline Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.

Two passengers, Richard Zabroski and Rebecca Pilla, both of Nesquehoning, died.

Matsick and another passenger were seriously injured.
