DUPONT-- As one Luzerne County police officer is charged with selling drugs on the job, another is suspected of being his customer.

Dupont Borough Police Officer Kenneth Shotwell has not been arrested or charged with a crime. However, according to an affidavit from the F.B.I., Hughestown officer Robert Evans told investigators that he sold Shotwell Oxycodone 25 times. Evans is currently facing federal drug charges and was arrested on Friday.

Dupont residents we spoke with on Saturday say they are disappointed, but not completely surprised.

John Yedesko says, "In small towns like this you expect better."

While Evans is under arrest, Shotwell remains a member of the the Dupont Borough Police, however borough officials have taken him off the schedule until the investigation is complete.

Officials say Shotwell and the department's other officers all work part-time.

Shotwell lives in Duryea, but there was no answer at his door on Saturday.

Neighbor John Soy is a member of the Fire Police.

He says,"I knew he was a police officer but I didn't know what was going on. I was surprised, that's all. You really can't tell."
