LONG POND -- The August NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway is called the 'Go Bowling Dot Com 400' and it is drumming up business all over the Poconos.

There are welcome signs for race fans at restaurants, motels and hotels, bars and shops, and of course pop-up businesses specializing in race gear.

"I think it's great, it brings a lot of people to the area, you know? Which I'm sure is great for all the businesses around here, you know? For the revenue and stuff," said Casey Pietkiel of Carbon Township.

This is the second NASCAR race of the season and for the first time in more than 20 years, there was an Indy car race at Pocono Raceway this summer.

In all, that is three races for fans to enjoy.

That has not happened here since 1989.

"It is a big deal, yeah. It just shows that this track is, more people like to come here, and it's a good track. I don't know. It's just the people are nice, and it's a great place to be," said Jimmy Phillips of New Jersey.

Race fans said the banner year in the Poconos is good news for the track, local businesses and of course fans themselves.

Tens of thousands have flocked to the raceway this summer for races.

"It's a great time, to hang out with friends and watch some great racing and just have a party, basically," said Mark Phillips of New Jersey.

Fans said the more races at the track, the better. They said this summer has been a great one.

"Three races is great. We always come to NASCAR and watch Jeff Gordon win, so it's always a great time," said Jon Williams of New Jersey.

The NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway is scheduled to start Sunday at 1 p.m.
