SCRANTON -- Police say they have two people in custody in a man's death in Lackawanna County.

Frank Bonacci, 24, of Dunmore was found dead on Saturday night in his SUV in a wooded area near Roaring Brook in Scranton.

Arrests Made After Man Found Dead

During a news conference Friday morning, police said all three men were drinking together when they left Pal's house around 7 a.m. on July 20. Investigators say the men then went to the Ridge Row area of Scranton where police believe one of the men shot Bonacci execution-style in the back of the head and left his body there.

On Friday, the Lackawanna County coroner said Bonacci died from a single gunshot wound the head.

Bonacci had been missing for over a week when his body was discovered.

According to the affidavit, Pal interviewed with police early on in the investigation telling them he would do anything to help, saying "(Bonacci) was one of my best friends." and not realizing that he was speaking in past tense, referencing that Bonacci had already been dead.

Investigators thanked everyone who assisted in the searches from July 20-27, hoping now the family of Frank Bonacci gets some justice.

"They will be charged with one count of criminal homicide, a count of criminal homicide as a conspiracy and a count of criminal homicide as an accomplice. This investigation is a perfect example of if you do the job right, a perfect result comes to an end," said Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola.

Both Neil Pal and Jason Dominick are being held without bail because of these homicide charges. Both of their hearings have been scheduled for August 7.
