Ceremony For Scranton Set

SCRANTON — A memorial service for former governor William Scranton will be held in two weeks.

Scranton died Sunday in California at age 96.

A family spokesperson tells us the service will take place August 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton.

Governor Scranton first served as congressman, then as governor from 1963 to 1967.

He also ran for president in 1964.
