COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP — A state appeals board has revoked the charter of the Pocono Mountain Charter School in Monroe County.

The ruling was issued Tuesday in Harrisburg.

It upholds an earlier decision by the Pocono Mountain School Board to shut down the charter school in Tobyhanna.

The district argued that the Pocono Mountain Charter School was taking in more taxpayer money than needed to educate children.

The charter school could still appeal the decision in state court.
