HAZLE TOWNSHIP --- A jury in Luzerne County is hearing evidence of a suspicious death that happened two years ago when a state correctional officer was shot and killed.
In September of 2011, Officer Matthew Gallie was found dead at Eagle Rock, a gated community near Hazleton.
What was never determined was whether Gallie's death was a suicide, homicide or accidental.
Now, a coroner's inquest is underway to determine exactly how Gallie died.
Monday, Gallie's girlfriend Jessica Alinsky took the stand. She pleaded the fifth amendment and left the courtroom.
Lawyers tell Newswatch 16, the inquest is expected to end Tuesday or Wednesday.
