GILBERTON — There are new developments in the controversy surrounding a police chief from Schuylkill County.
Gilberton Police Chief mark Kessler made a video earlier this month, and posted it on YOUTUBE.
In the video, Kessler uses profanity and is seen firing a number of high-powered weapons.
Kessler is not only the chief of police but he is also a member of the North Schuylkill School Board and Thursday night the board issued the following statement:.
“The remaining members of the North Schuylkill Board of Education have been made aware of the commentary by member Mark Kessler. We do not condone or agree with his actions or communications as produced in his online video. His thoughts and feelings portrayed in the content of the videos are not shared by any other member of this board, the North Schuylkill School District, its administration and faculty and are his and his alone.
Kessler told Newswatch 16’s Bob Reynolds that he made the video to show his support for the right to bear arms and says he used the profanity to get people’s attention.
