Hazleton Police Investigate Stabbing

HAZLETON -- Three men are recovering Thursday morning after being stabbed during a fight in Hazleton.

Police said they responded to a large fight at Carson and East 4th streets around 12:30 a.m.

Officers said one of the men slashed needed to be flown to the hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

People in a Hazleton neighborhood are waking up to the news of violence in their neighborhood. One man takes no chances these days as he walks his dog, he carries a large stick and mace. It's to protect his dog and himself.

"I walk the streets but I walk with this," said neighbor Don Sandrock showing his large wooden stick. "Between animals attacking you and the killings, the violence is terrible!"
