AVOCA -- Tense moments at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton international Airport Sunday afternoon, when a small plane was forced to land without its landing gear.

Emergency vehicles and ambulances were on standby around 2 p.m. when the plane made its landing.

According to the safety director at the airport in Avoca, three people were on board the plane, which left Seamans Airport near Factoryville, when the pilot realized the landing gear would not go down.

The plane was eventually able to land in the grass.

Flights at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport were suspended for about 15 minutes.

No one on board the plane was hurt during the landing in Luzerne County.
