MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP — A man was electrocuted after a crash in Monroe County.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Middle Smithfield Township.
According to the coroner, Daniel Opong-Duah of Middle Smithfield Township drove off Brushy Mountain Road and hit a utility pole.
Officials said the pole broke and a live wire hit the electric company van Opong-Duah was driving.
The coroner believes Opong-Duah was electrocuted when he stepped out of the vehicle and onto the wire.
Opong-Duah died at Pocono Medical Center.
