WILKES-BARRE — The murder trial of Hugo Selenski, scheduled for August in Luzerne County, has been postponed indefinitely, prosecutors confirmed Friday.
Selenski was scheduled to go on trial August 5 for the murders of Michael Kerkowski and Tammy Fassett in 2002. The following year, their bodies were discovered buried in the backyard of the home where Selenski lived in the Back Mountain of Luzerne County.
After a pre-trial proceeding on Friday, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s office confirmed that Selenski’s trial had been postponed due to a grand jury investigation going on in Harrisburg. Prosecutors said the investigation is connected to the murder case.
Selenski is currently serving a long prison sentence for a home invasion in Monroe County.
