BUFFALO TOWNSHIP-- If you like to read, you may want to head over to the Lewisburg area for the Public Library of Union County's annual used book sale that's going on this week.

Whether you like fiction, non-fiction, cook books or children's books, the annual used book sale near Lewisburg has something for everyone.

"I like to look for the Christian romance books and some of the mystery books. My daughter is here too. She loves to read," Dana Pina said.

The Public Library for Union County's annual used book sale has more than 40,000 books to choose from. Folks stepped inside the air-conditioned Faith Lutheran Church near Lewisburg to see what they could find.

"I let people in at 8:50 because it was just too hot out there. There were about 150 people at 8:50," Sally Kobus said.

"How many books did you get?"
"I'm guessing about 400," Colin Shadel said.

"Some of them are for me, but I resell them on the internet. This is a good opportunity to find some things that somebody would like to purchase again," Jason Aucker said.

It costs $20 to fill a bag with books. Most people took advantage and packed in as many as they could.

"I wish I was as good as some of the other folks. I don't think I packed my bags quite as well," Crystal Snyder said.

If you didn't get there for day one of the book sale, don't worry. Organizers say there are still around 5,000 books they haven't even brought out yet. They replenish them throughout the week so people always have something new to look for.

"You could come tomorrow and find things you didn't even find today," Pina said.

All proceeds from the used book sale to go the Public Library for Union County to buy new books. The sale continues at Faith Lutheran Church through Saturday.
