For the neighbors who saw the crash and the little boy's family, it's been an emotional afternoon.

Downed telephone poles and flashing lights marked the scene along Grove Street in Wilkes-Barre after the serious crash.

Police say 7-year-old Conner was riding his bike across the street when driver Noelle Martin hit him swerved and crashed into a pole.

Police say Martin is pregnant and both she and the boy were rushed to the hospital.

Jasper Bryant and his daughter were working outside when it happened.

"Kid come up, hit the windshield, rolled off the windshield, went about 10 feet in the air and landed on the left side of his face."

Bryant says Conner often rides his bike in the street and has neighbors nervous.

"We've been saying for months and months now, this is going to happen. And it happened. And I didn't want to see it."

"I knew he was going to be really hurt," said Crystal Bryant.
"Does that make you scared?"
"Yeah."

Conner's aunt Taylor Cook says she rushed over when she heard the news and saw Conner's bike laying in the middle of the road.

She told Newswatch 16 Conner broke a few ribs and a bone in his face. She says he was transported to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville for surgery.

"Pretty rough. 7 years old. So how do you take it? Don't really know how," said Cook.

The hospital has not yet given us information on the condition of the driver or the little boy.

Police told us they believe the boy just rode out into the street quickly and that there was no driving error.

There is no word yet on whether or not there will be charges.
