Syracuse scored five runs in the fifth inning off Michael Pineda and cruised to a 7-1 win at PNC Field on Thursday night. This was the second loss in a row for the RailRiders after winning six games in a row.

Pineda gave up the grand slam homerun to Tyler Moore in the fifth and a solo shot to Danny Espinosa.

On Wednesday the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders granted Josh Bell his release from the team. Bell was played a great third base for Scranton but left little room once David Adams came back down from New York. Pineda went 4 2/3 taking the loss and giving up 4 hits and 6 runs all earned.

Syracuse and the RailRiders complete this two game series before Scranton hits the road for two in Buffalo and one on Sunday before the AAA All-Star game break in Reno, Nevada on Wednesday night. The RailRiders return home on July 18th with Louisville.

Thomas Neal, Chris Bootcheck and manager Dave Miley will represent the RailRiders in Reno.
