COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP -- A well-known business in the Poconos, destroyed by fire last month, is back in business.
Jack Williams Tire and Auto in Mount Pocono is now in a temporary location. However, there are big plans to rebuild.
The signs are up along Route 940 in Mount Pocono telling customers the Jack Williams Tire and Auto has a temporary home. More importantly, it's back up and running.
"Very good, very happy," said Dennis Nagle of Pocono Lake.
That's because Nagle was in need of some repairs to his car.
"I noticed the other day I started having a flat tire and I brought it in today," said Nagle.
The new - temporary - location for Jack Williams Tire and Auto in Mount Pocono is about a mile away from where the old building was.
That building caught fire last month and the shop was destroyed.
The state police fire marshal is still investigating and has ruled the fire undetermined.
After the fire, customers had to go to other Jack Williams locations to get their vehicles serviced and workers were also moved around. Now the workers at the Mount Pocono location are glad to be back together as a team.
"These guys had a lot to go through, to get these guys back smiling. You can see the difference in them," said Jason Denig, the General Manager of Jack Williams Tire and Auto.
The owners of Jack Williams Tire and Auto in Mount Pocono got the OK to tear down that building. They expect the demolition to begin in the week ahead. Then, once demolition is complete, they're going to start rebuilding, and they're letting everyone know they'll be back soon.
"Our contractor is ready to build it. We have all the materials, we're planning for a mid-October opening," said Bill Williams the CEO of Jack Williams Tire and Auto.
Williams says from now until the reopening of their permanent store, a portion of the sales at the Mount Pocono temporary location will go to the volunteer fire companies as a thank you for putting out the fire.
