Close to 1,000 people ran in this year's 5K in Mifflinburg. The race is in its 30th year. People say it's gets bigger and better every year.
"I remember 15 years ago it was not this big, maybe 300 people," Jeremiah Allen said.

"I just started running it because it was something to do on July 4th holiday when I was younger. As I got older it was a challenge to do better every year," Allen said.
It is a similar story for many others who say the Mifflinburg 5K is a tradition.
"It's just fun. I enjoy running, the atmosphere and i enjoy the course," Bill Klaus said.
For the Hoof family of Selinsgrove, the Mifflinburg 5K is a family affair. The Hoofs ran on this Independence Day in honor of a friend and veteran who lost both legs in combat.
"We've got four of us who are running. Natalie, my son and my husband. I think we're hoping to just finish," Leslie Hoof said.
In addition to the 5K there are a lot of other fun activities going on here in Mifflinburg for the 4th of July. A kids fun run, a pet parade, a talent show and fireworks at night.
"I think it's such a wonderful opportunity to take July 4th to put something like this together. Mifflinburg is such a quaint little town," Hoof said.
"Just the whole community coming out and just enjoying this time together. You see the community--it's just a really neat experience," Allen said.
Proceeds from the Mifflinburg 5K benefit the Mifflinburg community's 4th of July fund, so the festivities continue for years to come.
