State police said John Larose died when his car smashed into another Route 120 near Cameron in Cameron County.

Trooper Larose was the Station Commander at the Emporium Station for state police in Montoursville.  He was also the fixed wing pilot for troopers in Lycoming County for many years.

According to authorities, Larose was driving east on Route 120 when he lost control of his car on the wet road and was struck by another car driving west.  No one was seriously injured in that vehicle.
