GETTYSBURG --- As our area gets ready to celebrate the 4th of July this week, there is also a huge anniversary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

It's been 150 years since the Battle of Gettysburg.

The three-day battle caused the biggest number of casualties of the civil war and is known as the turning point of the war.

Newswatch 16 visited the battlefield to see where and how descendants from our area fought and died in the pivotal encounter at Gettysburg.
