140 golfers played in the 18th annual Mike Munchak Charity Golf Classic at the Country Club of Scranton on Monday. This annual event raises money for the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. A $6,300 dollar scholarship was awarded to Carbondale senior Joe Gigliotti for his academic achievements and community service projects. Joe was the quarterback for the Chargers football team last fall.

Due to severe weather conditions in the area on Monday only 5 holes completed on the golf course at the Country Club of Scranton. The day of golf ended with a silent auction, prizes and a dinner. Mike then talked to the crowd and thanked many of the volunteers and staff of the United Way for their work to get this tournament off the ground and running each year and raising money for many in the area.

This is the 3rd year for Mike Munchak as the Tennessee Titans head football coach. In year one the team finished with a record of (9-7) then dropped to (6-10) last season. Mike is excited about the addition of 25 new players and 5 new staff members on the Titans.

Early Monday morning Mike Munchak joined WNEP Sports Director Jim Coles near the clubhouse and practice green to talk about this amazing tournament-it's success, and the successful season coming up for the Tennessee Titans.
