CARBONDALE -- Investigators in Lackawanna County have charged a man with arson and insurance fraud.
Police in Carbondale believe Michael Killiany set fire to his former home last month.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. on May 9. Investigators determined it was arson about a week later.
State police say Killiany lost the home along Belmont Street in a sheriff's sale.
They tell Newswatch 16 he made threats he would burn the home, making it worthless to the new owners.
A man and his dog made it out of the burning home safely.
