The Johnsonburg Rams scored five runs in the 6th inning off Canton pitching to win the "A" state baseball championship on Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on the campus of Penn State University.

Canton starting pitcher Garrett Wesneski helped his team get out of several jams in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings with strikeouts, pick-off plays and ground-outs, but in the 6th Johnsonburg had too much left in the tank and the Rams squeezed across 5 runs to win the state title game 5-0 over the Warriors out of District IV and Bradford County.

Canton defeated Lancaster County Christian 8-1, then beat Calvary Christian 3-1 and eventually took Old Forge 2-1 to make it to the championship game finally settling for the state runner-up trophy and a record of 23-3.
