STROUDSBURG — The party is on for the first race of the season in the Poconos!
Downtown Stroudsburg was the place to be Saturday, one day before the NASCAR race at the “tricky triangle”.
This is the first year the race is called “The Party in the Poconos 400” and what a better way to kick it off than an actual party.
Main Street was shut down for the festival put on by the Sherman Theater.
There was food, games, carnival rides, and even musical acts!
“Every year it grows,” said Rick Berkowitz of the Sherman Theater. “We have more vendors. We’ve got a bigger carnival this year. Dickie Betts on the main stage. Every year we’re growing it. It’s a good tourist mainstay. A lot of people visiting.”
This is the fifth year for the festival on the day before the race at Long Pond and Pocono Raceway in Monroe County.
Newswatch 16 will have full coverage of the day’s events from the NASCAR race in the Poconos!
