Fisherman Drowns in Creek

HARTLEY TOWNSHIP — A medical examiner in Union County said doctors were unable to save a fisherman who fell into a creek in Hartley Township.

According to a hospital report, Thomas Patrick of Coal Township died after being underwater between 20 and 40 minutes.

Authorities said Patrick was fishing in Penns Creek around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon when he fell.

Crews said they were able to revive him for a short period.  He later died Wednesday night in the hospital.
