Wyoming Valley West had a 1-0 lead thru the first six innings until the Scranton Knights scratched off a run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 1-1.
Then Spartan freshman Ryan Hogan stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 7th with a runner on first. With his beautiful swing Hogan connected on one to right center and the race was on.
Beating the throw to home was Matt Labashosky. Wyoming Valley West wins the game 2-1 and the District 2 AAAA Championship. It was Ryan Hogan with the big hit a game winning double at PNC Field. He was the hero.
