Old Forge vs Lackawanna Trail-District 2 A Championship

Old Forge hitter Warren Welsh singled in the only run of the game in the top of the second inning on Monday at PNC Field in the District 2 "A" baseball championship game giving them the 1-0 win over Lackawanna Trail.

Starting pitcher David Chromey scattered three hits over seven innings for the win.

Matt Flynn earned his stripes for the Lions only allowing five hits for Trail. It was a pitching battle early Monday morning in front of a packed house in Moosic.

Chromey got out of big jam in the bottom of the 6th when Lackawanna Trail had runners on 2nd and 3rd. Chromey using his command and off-speed pitches to silence the Lions batters.

Old Forge sets their sights on Monday June 3rd in the first round of state play.
