WYOMING – Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to speak at a public event at the Wyoming Monument, followed by a private fundraiser in Luzerne County today.
Organizers say several hundred chairs and a tent are set up outside the monument, and the speech is set to start at 3 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to park at Midway Shopping Center or Flack Field.
In April 2011, former President Jimmy Carter visited Plains Township in Luzerne County. He attended an auction to benefit his hometown of Plains, Georgia. Newswatch 16’s Peggy Lee was there.
