Former President Slated To Speak Here

WYOMING — Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to visit Luzerne County next week for a ceremony at the Wyoming Monument.

It will be the second time in two years Carter has visited Luzerne County.

Carter is expected to speak at the Wyoming Monument Tuesday around 3 p.m.

Shuttle bus service from the Midway Shopping Center and Flack Field will be offered to the Wyoming Monument. Visitors may park in these areas and obtain free transportation to the monument. Shuttle bus service will begin at approximately 2 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

Carter and his wife were in our area for a charity auction to benefit his hometown of plains, Georgia in April of 2011.
