Attempted Robbery in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE — Police are investigating after an attempted robbery in front of an elementary school in Luzerne County.

According to authorities, the attempted robbery took place on Old River Road, near Kistler Elementary in Wilkes-Barre, around 9:30 Wednesday night.

Police said Robert Adams was walking in front of Kistler Elementary School when he heard footsteps behind him, and a man put an object to the back of his head, and said, quote “let me see what you have,” unquote.

Officials said Adams started to walk toward the road, and the man fled north on Old River Road.

The man was described as about five foot eight, weighing 175 pounds, and about 20 years old.

Police are investigating after the incident in Luzerne County.
