POTTSVILLE -- A mother in Pottsville this week lost her four children, husband, and sister in a fire that destroyed their home. She is publicly sharing her feeling for the first time.

Surrounded by family who flew in from Washington State to help her grieve, Kelly Brown, of Pottsville talked about her emotional pain.

"I have my family but I don't have my kids, my husband of 13 years, my best friend, my little sister." Brown said.

Kelly was at a neighbors doing laundry the night of Mother's Day. She smelled smoke, went outside and was met by flames shooting out of her home. Inside were her husband, Eric, her sister, and her four children. They all died. Kelly said that's when her nightmare began.

"I was devastated. All I knew was my family was dying in front of me. I tried so hard to get into the house, I tried, I burnt my finger."

Kelly is thankful for the fire fund that has been set up for her and the community support, such as a funeral home which won't charge her for their services.

"I appreciate the help and the community and helping me though this time of losing my family," Brown explained.

Kelly said she will travel to Washington State with her family and receive therapy.  She knows the heartache may never end.

"I know they're up in heaven, my husband, the kids and my sister are all up in heaven, with God and they are my angels now." Brown said.

If you want to help Kelly Brown rebuild her life you can. A fire fund has been set up. Checks can be made out the Kelly Brown Fire Fund and they can be deposited at any Wells Fargo bank.
