JENKINS TOWNSHIP — A woman found dead Sunday afternoon in Luzerne County may be the victim of a hit and run.
The woman’s body was discovered shortly after 5 p.m. along Westminster Road in Jenkins Township, just outside Laflin.
Police identified the woman as Jean Darsky, 65. Neighbors say she lived nearby and often walked along Westminster Road on her way home from church.
The Luzerne County District Attorney says investigators suspect Darsky was the victim of a hit and run. An autopsy is set for Monday.
The D.A.’s office and Jenkins Township Police are investigating. Anyone with information about what happened on Westminster Road is asked to call 911 in Luzerne County.
