Crumbling Tower Closes Street

HAZLETON — A crumbling tower forced the city of Hazleton to block off part of a street on Sunday.

Police say Fulton Court is closed between Diamond Avenue and Arbutus Street. Police blocked off that area Sunday morning because of concerns about the tower of the Duplin building. Police say pieces of the tower were falling to the ground.

Hazleton police say city officials are trying to track down the owner of the building.

Fulton Court between Diamond Avenue and Arbutus Street in in Hazleton is expected to remain closed until at least some time on Monday.
