PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- Fire couldn't spoil an annual Cinco de Mayo celebration in Luzerne County.

The Woodlands Inn and Resort in Plains Township offered their kitchen, bars, deck and dining area to La Tolteca.  Workers at both businesses pitched in to serve beer, margaritas and a Mexican buffet.

Party plans were put on hold last Sunday night after a dumpster fire spread to the roof at La Tolteca near Wilkes-Barre.

"We were very excited and said oh, we can still get margaritas at La Tolteca! I thought it was very nice that the Woodlands was doing this," said Cheryl Carey, of Dallas.

Both businesses split the proceeds from the Cinco de Mayo party in Luzerne County.
