WILKES-BARRE -- 150 bicyclists peddled nearly 35 miles Sunday to remember a long-time volunteer who helped build affordable houses in Luzerne County.

The fifth annual Spencer Martin Memorial Bike Ride started at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus and wound its way through the back mountain.

"Such a perfect cause, helping those who want to help themselves. What could be better than coming out on a beautiful day like today. The course is great, the weather is fabulous and the support was there," said Chris Hackett, of Shavertown.

The memorial ride is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity.
