UPDATE: Stabbing at a Home in Monroe County

UPDATE: Police arrested and charged Edward Baliski, 58, of Long Pond Tuesday accusing him of stabbing his girlfriend's son.  He faces charges of attempted homicide and assault.

The victim is still in critical condition.

LONG POND -- Police are investigating a stabbing in a home along John's Lane in Long Pond.

A man is hospitalized after his mother said he was stabbed about a dozen times around 4 p.m. Monday.

The woman who lives at the home, Pat Gallagher, said her boyfriend began a fight because she was drinking, and her 34-year-old son stepped in to help her.

“My boyfriend came in and was enraged, punched me in the nose, came into the dining room, stabbed my son," said Gallagher.

The woman said police arrested her boyfriend, and her son was taken to the hospital.

No word on his condition after the attack in Monroe County.
