MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- State police in Monroe County tell us charges will not be filed after a stray bullet hit the window of an elementary school earlier this month.

According to police, the bullet that hit a window at Resica Elementary near Marshalls Creek came from a gun being used for target shooting.

The school is part of the East Stroudsburg Area School District

There were students in the school at the time but no one was hit.

The distance between the site and the school was determined to be about a half mile.
