WILLIAMSPORT — A local artist is working on a mural to honor the memories of two victims of violence.

Newswatch 16 stopped by Michael Pilato’s studio in Williamsport.

The mural already features Emilie Parker, one of the first graders shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary, and 8-year-old Martin Richard, who was killed in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The boy is seen holding a message of peace along with the names of other victims from Boston.

“It spread his message and also, the innocence of young people. It’s so beautiful, the words. ┬áIt’s almost like we all have that child within ourselves,” Pilato said.

The mural is expected to be unveiled along Heister Street in State College later this year.
