Apex Waste Services, 13 Peggy Parkway in the Keystone Industrial Park, Dunmore, e-cycling service available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 to 9 a.m.
Beach Lake Transfer Station, 165 Rosencranse Road, Beach Lake, weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 7 a.m. to noon.
Grand Central Landfill and Hauling, 910 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 7 to 9 a.m.
Alliance Landfill accepts these items for recycling: televisions and computer equipment, and most other consumer electronics, including VCR’s, audio equipment, telephones, cell phones and most other devices that plug in or are powered by batteries.
The following are items not accepted at area landfills: microwave ovens, devices containing liquid mercury (thermostats, switches, medical devices, thermometers); Freon-containing devices (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers); household hazardous wastes; liquids; yard equipment; gas-powered equipment; leaking items; radioactive materials; large appliances (stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers); batteries; and CD's, DVD's, VHS tapes and cassette tapes.
