LOWER TOWAMENSING TOWNSHIP -- A crash involving a para glider in Carbon County sent one person to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
State police identified the pilot as a 60-year-old man from Hoboken, New Jersey. He was taken to a hospital near Allentown with minor injuries.
Troopers say the single-person glider went down just before 3 p.m. along Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township, near Palmerton.
According to troopers, the pilot began to spin, some lines on the glider became twisted, and a flap on one side of the para glider deflated. That's when the crash happened.
The FAA will investigate the para glider crash in Carbon County.
