A piece of emotional history is in Schuylkill County, part of a beam from the world trade center. It will be part of a firefighters memorial.
There were some anxious moments at the McAdoo fire company. Workers eased a two ton firefighters memorial into place. The monument is part of a park next to the fire company.
"A lot of ideas, layout and design and redesign, and layout and redesign again to come up with what the fire company wanted." said Vince Labert.
Firefighter Bob Leshko said the community can get involved in funding the project by buying bricks.
"It doesn't have to be memorial brick, you can put your own name, it can be a place where you remember your loved ones. You can remember someone who has passed or is here right now. We have an eight by eight brick which is $100 and that gives you six lines, then we have four by eight bricks for $50," said Leshko.
Mike Bowman another firefighter said he's proud of whats been accomplished.
"It is going to be very important the community, to see the names on here, the past present and future of this fire company and the community," said Bowman.
Some said one of the important pieces of the firefighters memorial is a simple piece of metal, a piece of the World Trade Center. Leshko said they got one of the last pieces.
"It's very important to remember all the firefighters and everybody who was just there and lost their lives in that," said Leshko.
