Police Discover Fake Gold and Silver

LUZERNE — Thousands of dollars worth of fake gold and silver were discovered Monday by police in Luzerne County.

Authorities said they received a call from two people who said they bought $12,655 dollars in gold and silver bars and coins from David Steele, of Luzerne Borough.

Police examined the gold and silver and determined they were fake.  Officers arrested Steele at his home.  Fifteen bundles of heroin were found as well as more fake gold and silver bars and coins.

Steele is locked up in Luzerne County jail.
